Talking Points for your time at the Table of the Lord
Based on what we learned in our study of God’s word, here are some talking points for you to discuss with the Lord during your time with Him this week. This is just a starting point. As you review the scriptures and the class, listen to what Holy Spirit is highlighting to you and discuss those things with the Lord. This is a very simple way to encounter God each day.

Talking point 1: 2 Kings 5:1-3. In review we talked about the little girl taken captive by the Aramaens who became the slave of Naaman and his wife. This little girl spoke to her master about the prophet of Jehovah who could heal his leprosy. That act of faith on her part changed the lives of many people and nations. What appears in the natural to be a bad situation in our lives may just be God’s set up for our calling to fulfill His purposes for our lives. Talk to the Lord about your situations and ask Him to give you His perspective on each one (especially those that are troublesome to you).
Talking point 2: 2 Kings 7:1-2,17-20. God told King Joram through Elisha that this deadly siege by the Arameans on Samaria would end the next day and the city would thrive instantly. Joram’s officer doubted such a wonderful thing could ever be possible even for God. As a result, he lost the privilege of experiencing this great blessing from God’s hand and his life. Talk to the Lord about the things you find yourself doubting concerning the goodness and power of God. Ask Him to increase and strengthen your faith in these areas and change your perspective tot hat of rejoicing for the deliverance of the Lord.
Talking point 3: 2 kings 8:1-6. The Shunammite woman had given much to Elisha without seeing anything in return. However, Gpd orchestrated a complete restoration of all she had plus more when she returned to Israel after begin away for the 7 year famine. Talk to the Lord about His promise of reward for serving, obeying and giving to Him. Thank Him for His great sovereign understanding of the perfect timing to release those rewards to you. Ask Him what more He desires for you to give and do. Be ready to do all He tells you knowing He will keep His promise of return.
Talking point 4: 2 Kings 8:7ff; Obadiah; Isaiah 40 We talked about the Holiness of God, meaning He is different than everything and everybody. He does things differently. He thinks differently acts differently. He calls us to be different in the same way He is. This means aligning our thoughts, understanding and actions to His and not trusting in the understanding and ways of this word, our culture, our families or our world. Meditate of the truth the God is holy and what that means for your life. Spend much time talking with God about this. Ask Him to release a revelation of His holiness to you and all that it means. Ask Him to make you holy as He is holy.
