So often we say that Jesus is worthy of everything. We sing He is worthy of it all. Then life comes to test us on that statement and reveals our true heart. When we lose our job, home, health, etc. is He worthy still or do we complain? When we see others blessed with what we have been hoping and praying for, is Jesus worthy of our not having what they have? When everything around us appears to be falling apart, is He still worthy? Do we still press in with love adoration and desire for Him, or do we begin to grumble and lose interest in our time with Him? Our reactions to life are often the best measure of the reality of the sentiments of our lips. To be able to walk freely and unchanged with eyes fixed only on Him rejoicing in all things i the measure that nothing is greater than Him and He is truly worthy of not only everything we can give Him, but of everything we can deny ourselves if only we can have Him.
