In writing on the 1st 8 chapters of Romans, Watchman Nee males the follow observation. “The argument of the first part gathers round that aspect of the work of the Lord Jesus which is represented by ‘the Blood’ shed for our justification through ‘the remission of sins’. This terminology is however not carried on into the second section, where the argument entered now in the aspect of His work represents by ‘the Cross’, that is to say, by our union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. This distinction is a valuable one. We see that the Blood deals with what we have done, whereas the cross deals with what we are. The Blood disposes of our sins, while the cost strikes at the root of our capacity for sin.” (The Normal Christian Life, by Watchman Nee)
God great love desires to see us become all He made us to be and thus He puts us through the fire and the shaking to destroy everything that is not His handiwork. Let us focus more on Him and less on our understanding of our circumstance and become what and who we really are. Away with the way things were. Let’s us advance Onward and upward into things as they are in Him and His Kingdom. We have no higher purpose than to be what our Lord Jesus says we are. Anything short of that misses the mark. Eyes and ears on Him and Him alone.
