I sat for my time with the Lord and began to push through what felt like a dry session of reading the Bible and trying to pray. It felt like I was alone in it so I said, ‘Lord, are you not showing up today? Is there something I need to do to cause you to come?” Then I heard a still quiet response, “I’ve been here all along. You were expecting the great burst of my presence or the powerful revelation. I just showed iup here when you did.” It was then it dawned on me how I almost missed the Lord looking for Him because I was expecting Him to come in grandeur and power when He just came. How often do our expectations of God cause us to miss the simple wonder of His I-will-never-leave-you. God is always with us. Sometimes His presence is overwhelming. Other times it just is. Don’t miss it in expectation. Just know He is and welcome Him.
